93 LeSabre power lock and window switch
Two questions. 1) Need to replace the power window switch on the driver
door. Cheapest place to get a switch? 2) Power door lock on front
passenger door does not work sometimes. Locks the door about 1/2 the time,
almost never unlocks it. Dealer said it was the actuator but since it works
sometimes and l can hear it when l hit the lock/unlock l thought something
had just come loose. When l try to open it with a key from the outside it
can be very hard to turn the key.
Besides the dealer, no one is going to have a window switch
that matches the cutout on the door. If you're trying to save bucks, you
could get one from a junkyard, the switch is probably the same for a
couple different years, but you take the risk of buying another one that
may be defective. As far as the lock switch, if the key is hard to turn it
won't be an actuator because that part is partially electrical. You may
have interference in the door that is not allowing the rod inside to physically move. Try using the lock switch at the passenger door. If the result is the same, it is not the driver is door switch.
